The Factors of Affecting on Subjective Quality of Life for the Young-Old men

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the factors related to quality of life in young-old men.

Methods: This was a descriptive correlation study. The subjects were 131 among young-old men 60-75 years old. The data were analyzed with mean, SD, t-test, ANOVA, and pearson``s correlation by using the SPSS 17.0 program.

Results: First, the mean of quality of life was 21.9, social support 3.35, self esteem 2.73 and marital communication 3.10 respectively. Second, the correlation between quality of life and Social support(r=.73, p=.00), self esteem(r=.54, p=.00), marital communication(r=.46, p=.00) was also statistically significant. Third The predictors of quality of life in young-old men were Social support, perceived health state, self esteem, education, marital communication, Family income. These factors explained 60% of the total variance.

Conclusion: These findings suggest the need to develop nursing strategy to improve quality of life in young-old men. To improve the quality of life in young-old men, the above major influencing factors should be considere.
